New Poll Shows Big Gains for Minogue in Mass Governor’s Race

September 10, 2026

Among voters who have an opinion of both candidates, the race is a dead heat - a serious sign of trouble for Healey and MASS Dems

For Immediate Release

Massachusetts, September 10, 2026 - According to a new statewide poll conducted by nationally-recognized research firm McLaughlin & Associates, combat veteran and business leader Mike Minogue has considerably closed the gap with incumbent Democratic Governor Maura Healey, cutting Healey’s summer lead by more than half with 55 days to go.

Furthermore, the poll - whose methodological sample largely mirrors previous public polls - reveals that:

  • Minogue and Healey are in a dead heat among the 7-in-10 Commonwealth voters who know enough about both candidates to form an opinion
  • Independent voters view Healey job performance extremely negatively and overwhelmingly oppose her re-election as Governor
  • Healey’s attempt to shift accountability and blame for Massachusetts problems to President Trump are falling flat with voters - even a significant number of Democrats

“Mike Minogue has a very clear and credible path to victory, and can absolutely win this race in November,” said Massachusetts First PAC Chairman Rob Neuner.  “Maura Healey is widely seen as a failed governor whose policies have made Massachusetts more expensive for working families and retirees; and are driving away businesses, jobs, and residents in record numbers. Healey is deeply unpopular with independents, and all the momentum is with Mike Minogue.”
